Executive Messages

I'm proud that IBM Research will be leading the International Technology Alliance, as a consortium of 24 institutions from industry and academia in both the U.K. and the U.S. It is a great example of a new kind of innovation - more collaborative and more global -- that brings together a broad range of capabilities from government organizations, academic institutions and industrial laboratories that make innovation their top priority. Paul Horn, Senior VP, IBM Research

This program will provide open collaborative cutting edge research opportunities across national, institutional and technical boundaries. It is through innovative and creative ventures such as this that allows our scientists and researchers to stretch their imaginations and reach beyond their normal horizons. The scientists within the US Army Research, Development and Engineering command are looking forward to creating relationships and working with their fellow scientists within the varied organizations. Major General Roger A. Nadeau Commanding General, U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command
The International Technology Alliance opens a new era of collaborative, multi-disciplinary research which spans multiple universities and industrial research labs in the US and the UK. A number of leading researchers have come together to perform joint research, forming a virtual organization of some of the best minds in both countries. It is exciting to be a part of this group, and we are looking forward to achieving several breakthroughs in network-centric systems over the course of the next ten years. Dinesh Verma, ITA Program Manager
This International Technology Alliance allows us to focus innovation and insights from the best in our industry and university communities on both sides of the Atlantic on the scientific enablers of net-centric warfare. It will build a base of shared fundamental knowledge that will help to facilitate future coalition operations. As a result, it is really as much about partnering with our closest Ally as it is about addressing critical research challenges in network and information sciences that will enable us to foster next generation tactical mobile networks. Dr. Thomas H. Killion Deputy Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology/Chief Scientist U.S. Army
