Abstract

Pervasive and autonomic systems lack support for the design and specification of collaborations between autonomous components. This paper proposes a catalogue of architectural styles for modelling collaborations between autonomous entities, using the Self-Managed Cell framework. These architectural styles provide several useful abstractions for combining and structuring SMCs. We present each style by introducing the problem it aims to solve and a detailed description of the style itself. The specification of complex collaborations between SMCs are defined through the notion of configurations, combining the abstractions provided by different architectural styles.
